Tonight I got home and decided I wanted to do another block of the Pansy Park. I am really enjoying these easy blocks. I made this block and then I decided to continue sewing the pineapple blocks I worked on a few weeks ago.
You remember, there were 56 of them... I got all the blocks sewn together in rows. I made 8 rows that are 7 blocks across. I got them ironed and they are now ready to sew together...Here's what my scrappy pineapples look like...I really like these. I'm going to sew them together tomorrow or Saturday then decide if I want to put a thin stripe and a piano key border...I'm thinking about that alot....I'll put them together and show you...Got to do some embroidery now. I'm almost finished with block 11!
Here's a close up of one of the blocks:
8 rows done and ready to sew together, yeah! I'm really liking this quilt.
You know, it's funny. I've been thinking about this quilt today and I remembered this pattern was the first quilt I ever wanted to make. All these years, I have kept an ad for Pfaff sewing machines and the only reason I kept it was because of the Pineapple quilt it showed. When I first started quilting I knew one day I would make this quilt. I had forgotten about this and for some reason I just remembered that today.I guess that must have been around 1992. Oh well, so it takes me a while to fulfill my dreams. At least I'm getting there, right?
