I put together the middle part of this little quilt for kids quilt kit and started putting the borders on. That's when I discovered there's not enough fabric cut for the borders. I've already sewed on two sides. I went to measure the fabric for the top and bottom and that's when I discovered the problem. Argggh, I hate it when this happens. Now, I'm going to have to take off the two sides and find some different fabric to put on this quilt. What a waste of time.... Oh well, I didn't like the border fabric anyway...

What a shame! I had a little extra fabric in the kit I got. Not much, but a little.
Looks like a good time to add blocks to the border in the corners. Even a solid would work. Just an option.
do you have a coordinating tone on tone that you can use for the corners?
Oh Linda-----Hopefully you haven't taken off the sides yet.
I was going to suggest what Deanna & Becca already did. Dig through your stash to see if you can simply put a corner-stone on the ends of the top/bottom border.
Good luck :0)
I was thinking the same thing - squares in the border corners.
Hope you find a solution, it would be such a shame to take it all out
I agree, it is a shame to take it all out, can't you just make four corners and inset them in?
quilt looks great, I would make a star block and add it to the bottom right hand corner of the quilt.

How frustrating! Looks like you have great suggestions. Anxious to see your solution.
Cornerstones are a great fix when the borders are just a bit short. Unsewing is no fun at all.
I think I would have to do corner stones too Linda... very cute quilt.
