This afternoon, I pulled out my UFO #3. It was a mystery scrap sampler from 2007. I had 4 blocks left to do on this UFO. I don't know why I stopped working on it. I thought I had messed up one of the blocks by cutting it too small (no seam allowances) but after checking the measurements, I found that the block was right. I checked all the other blocks and they were ok too. I was able to do two of the four blocks today so I'm a little closer...I still have several half square triangles to make and some four patches too. Maybe this week I'll be able to finish with all the blocks....Here's the two blocks I made this afternoon...
Church block, I still have to add a Cross to the top of the church. |
14" Bear Paw block |
Here's a glimpse of the sampler. I still have two more blocks. One big center block and a corner block of appliqued flowers. I just wanted them up on the design wall to look at...There are alot of cute blocks in this little quilt. I think the quilt will be 50" X 60" without borders...

I love the blocks and variety in the quilt. That will be a big UFO finish.
Very nice. Can't wait to see it together!
This is going to be a gorgeous quilt, lovely colours. I finished my UFO for this month yesterday
Good for you tackling a UFO! Love the blocks. It's going to be a lovely quilt when it's done! :0)
All the blocks are wonderful....looks like a ton of work too..
It's funny how we just stop working on a project sometimes. Great that you have resurrected this sampler and you are so close to finishing it!
Your sampler is looking great. Isn't it fun to pull out an old project and get it crossed off the list? Well, maybe not as fun as something new.
I have mine ready to quilt - I finished it with a piano key border - I, too, love the cute little blocks - they add so much to the charm of the quilt. I can't wait to see what fabrics you used for the blocks!
I love your quilt, and your blocks so much, they are so lovely. I have sewn my clothes, but I never do quilt. Hope I will do beautiful quilt like yours
Wow - nice quilt coming along! But no mystery left any more, hey! I actually have often collected all of the blocks for a mystery before starting - that way I have a better idea of fabric choices LOL
Oh I love this! It is so fun.
Great blocks, I especially like the Church block. It's going to be a gorgeous quilt.
Way cute sampler blocks. It will be great when you get them finished! I wish I could machine-applique, but the last time I tried, I just couldn't get those curves down. Maybe I should try again soon.
