Last night I met my friend for Mexican food and Margaritas, yum! We sat and visited and had a great time. Then, we headed over to the Garland Quilt Guild meeting. This was the first time I had been and it was great. Paula Barnes from Bonnie Blue Quilts was the speaker and she had a wonderful trunk show. Lots and lots of Civil War quilts. She told us that they are in the process of changing their name from Bonnie Blue Quilts to Red Crinoline...you know, what Mammie wore under her dress that Rhett Butler gave her? Anyway, she was a great speaker and the quilts were wonderful. Sorry, I did not take any pictures. My friend and I both joined the guild and are looking forward to next month already! She and I both got a kit to make a charity quilt and some handouts to make the BOM for next month. I have been meaning to go visit this guild forever and haven't because of other obligations on Tuesday nights. Well, I decided I would visit and will be going back too. I'm going to have to rearrange my schedule but that won't be a problem. I wish some of my meetings were on a different night!
I worked on my 9 patches tonight for awhile but the Olympics drew me in. I love watching these and can't stay away from the TV when they are on!
I'm still waiting on my new machine too. Tick-tock, tick-tock...I hate waiting. I am not a patient person!
I hope you have a great week and get some sewing time in!

Is that in Texas? It sounds so nice to go to a guild with a friend, and dinner first - yum!
So glad you found a fun quilt guild to join. Sounds like a great meeting!
You're very lucky - dinner with a friend and a new guild.
