Last week was crazy. I had something going every night and it wasn't quilt related. :-( I was so busy I really didn't have any time to blog...
Friday night changed all of that. I went over and visited with my quilting buddies at the church. We had a great time and ate, sewed and chatted. I got done what I had set out to do and was able to sit and visit too. Swooze and her daughter, Darcy even came for a visit. It's always nice to see her. I met her on-line a few years ago (I can't believe it's been that long!) and we've tried to get together several times and it just hasn't worked out. She's a busy lady too. Anyway, her and her sweet daughter came and sat in on our little group. We had alot of fun. I worked on sewing together 50 solid pink and 50 toile squares. I marked them diagonally and sewed on both sides of the line. I got those done at the group, ready for the next step. I left them together so I didn't lose any and started working on some little hexagons for a small project. I went home happy from seeing all of my quilting buddies.

That sounds great! We are actually getting ready to start doing some quilting at our church. There are several ladies that are interested in learning. Not that I am in any ways a pro but I can help them to learn how to sew a little bit. :0) There is another young lady that sews but just doesn't have a lot of time, she's like me she has several small kids. (I have the 5 and she has 4) We are going to bring our machines and I have been cutting out random blocks to just do a basic quilt with just 8" blocks. I may do a few that are triangle blocks before I get there just to mix it up a bit. :0)
I am very excited to get to do something like this. The first quilt is going to go to a lady that is dear to all of us.....if we can hurry up and make it! She's 93 and she hasn't been able to make it to church lately and we thought it would be nice to let her know that we are thinking of her. :0)
There's another lady that is in a nursing home that we'd like to make one for as well. So, we have a lot of sewing to do. I figured since the ladies won't be bringing in their own material it's not going to cost them anything to learn on and for the two of us that have just extra fabric laying around that will put it to good use.
I might get one of those fabric pens and have everyone sign it too.
Sorry to ramble on-on your blog. I have enjoyed reading what you have to write. Keep it up. I'm reading!! :0)
